The syndication plugin allows you to download torrents from RSS and Atom feeds. By supporting filters on these torrents, it allows you to fully automate downloading the torrents you want.

The syndication plugin

Feeds

Adding and removing feeds can be done by using the syndication widget on the left side of the KTorrent window. If you do not see this, you need to enable the plugin in the settings dialog. The syndication widget has two sections, the top section is to manage all the feeds, the bottom section is to manage the filters.

Clicking on the Add Feed button will popup a dialog asking you for the URL of the feed. If you have entered a valid URL, ktorrent will try to download that feed. Removing a feed is done by selecting it and pressing the Remove Feed button.

By double clicking on the feed or selecting it and then pressing the Show Feed button, KTorrent will open a tab displaying all the items of the feed. In this tab you can manually download an item, by selecting it and pressing the download button, or by double clicking on an item. There is also a button named Filters, this can be used to add filters to the feed.

Refreshing the feed is done periodically by KTorrent, you can also manually refresh it, by pressing the Refresh button in the tab of a feed. At startup KTorrent will always refresh the feeds, so there should be little need for manual refreshing.

Filters

Obviously the most important part of the syndication plugin, is the ability to automate downloading of torrents. This is achieved by supporting filters. Filters will filter out the torrents you don't need, and only download the ones you do need.
